Abstract

Poly(epichlorohydrin) possessing chloromethyl side groups in the main chain was used in the atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate and styrene to yield poly(epichlorohydrin-g-methyl methacrylate) and poly(epichlorohydrin-g-styrene graft copolymers. The polymers were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, and fractional precipitation method. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
