Hydrogels, as an adsorbent, can remove pollutants such as metal ions from aqueous solutions because they are easy to apply and regenerate, and they have a high removal capacity. Nalan Baş et al. use 60Co-γ radiation polymerization to obtain the homopolymer N,N-dimethylaminopropyl methacrylamide (DMAPMAm) and copolymers DMAPMAm/itaconic acid (DMAPMAm/IA), as shown in the scanning electron microscopy taken by Evren Çubukçu. The hydrogels are exposed to cobalt ions in an aqueous solution by using a phosphate buffer. X-ray diffraction reveals that crystals on the surface of the hydrogels are cobalt phosphate octahydrate (Co3(PO4)2.8H2O). DOI: 10.1002/app.39569
