With this issue of Arthritis Care & Research, we inaugurate a new cover style. Although we know that our readers would never judge us by our cover-in this instance, we hope that they do because we think our new cover reflects the freshness and sharpness of the material contained inside.
This change comes on the 20th anniversary of Arthritis Care & Research, a few years after the journal was first distributed to all members of the American College of Rheumatology and all members of the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals (a division of the College), and an even shorter time since it has begun sharing an impact factor with its older cousin, Arthritis & Rheumatism (also inaugurating a new cover this month).
In addition to the cover, there is more that is new with Arthritis Care & Research. This year, we will initiate a new series of clinicopathologic conferences, edited by Associate Editor John Stone, MD. Also Arthritis Care & Research has become a monthly publication, which will reduce the time from article acceptance to publication, and in the process make us a more viable venue for research that concerns health policy issues, and render us even more visible in the world of rheumatology journals.
All of these changes-from the cover to the contents-are possible because of the commitment of the American College of Rheumatology, and the publisher, John Wiley & Sons to servicing the needs of the journal's community of readers and authors. We hope, as editors, that we can reward their faith in us as part of that community.
