Members of the American College of Rheumatology/Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals who wish to receive Arthritis & Rheumatism and Arthritis Care & Research in electronic form only may opt to receive a paperless subscription. This option has been available to members outside of North America since 2007, and beginning with the January 2009 issues of the journals, will become available to members in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The online editions of the journals include HTML and PDF versions of all articles, supplementary materials, and search capability, with several enhancements planned.

US, Canada, and Mexico ACR/ARHP members who wish to request an online-only subscription should check the “online-only journal” option on the membership notice. Members who wish to switch to an online-only subscription later in the year, after the membership notice has been sent in, should send an e-mail to membership@rheumatology.org. Include your name, postal address, and member number if known. Members outside the US, Canada, and Mexico who wish to request an online-only subscription should check the “online-only journal” option on the membership notice.

To access the full, current content of Arthritis & Rheumatism and Arthritis Care & Research online, ACR/ARHP members must complete a one-time registration. To do so, go to the home page of the ACR Web site, click Publications, click either Arthritis & Rheumatism or Arthritis Care & Research, and follow the instructions shown for first-time users (you will need to enter your ACR username and password to access the instructions).

The ACR/ARHP Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Postgraduate Rheumatology Training Program is now open for registration. More than 60 experts have dedicated hundreds of hours to complete this innovative program, which includes 18 hours of audio-annotated PowerPoint slides, 2,800 slides, and 631 images in 19 modules. This novel Web-based program will allow NPs, PAs, and others interested in rheumatology to have a flexible, affordable way to build competence in the care of persons with rheumatic diseases. The ARHP Rheumatology Audioconference/Webcast Series is designed to meet the educational needs of health professionals involved in the management of patients with arthritis and other rheumatic diseases. With the new webcast option, you have the flexibility to view a recording of the session on the ACR Web site at your convenience (normal registration fees apply). The series is a convenient, cost-effective way to experience leading content from experts in the field. Held monthly, each live, interactive, 60-minute session will explore an aspect of the most current information available about arthritis care. If you are unable to attend, audio CDs of any session in the 2008 or 2009 series are available for purchase.

Sessions are scheduled from noon to 1:00 pm Eastern Time, and registered participants will receive the speaker's handout materials prior to the call, along with a toll-free phone number and instructions on how to join the call and ask questions during the question/answer period. This audioconference series is an excellent in-service education tool. You and your colleagues can participate from the comfort of your office or conference room—all for a single registration fee.
