PyA-modified oligodeoxyadenylates exhibit blue, white, or reddish-orange fluorescence emission depending on the number of incorporated PyA units. These results expand the number of building blocks available for constructing DNA-based nanoarchitectures and might be applicable to the development of new fluorescent devices (PyA=8-(1-pyrenyl ethynyl)-2′-deoxyadenosine).
