Welcome to the first issue of Behavioral Interventions (BIN) for 2014. BIN which was originally Behavioral Residential Treatment was founded by Frederick Fuoco in 1986 and the first issue covered a variety of topics including skill acquisition procedures, staff training, problem behavior, and assessment. That is certainly representative of BIN's aims. Many may not attend to BIN's subtitle, Treatment, Education, Assessment, and Practice in Community and Residential Programs but the content of this journal has always reflected them. This year we expect to continue to present to readership behavior analytic research that addresses socially meaningful behavior. Over the past year BIN published numerous studies examining challenging behavior in a variety of contexts and implementing effective behavioral interventions. Additionally there were also many studies that identified individuals with significant skill deficits for who effective teaching strategies were employed to remediate these deficits. There were also a few articles published on staff/caregiver training and an interesting review of the media's coverage of empirically established and alternative treatments for autism by Schreck and colleagues (2013). This year we will continue to includethese types of articles representing the state of the art of applied behavioral research. However, I am pleased to announce that we have had a few submissions of extensive literature reviews on topics of great relevance to the practice of behavior analysis. The first of these will appear in the second issue of the year and I hope to have the second to the readership by the last issue of 2014. BIN encourages Literature Reviews and Book Reports and we are soliciting your submissions in these areas. Certainly the Articles and Reports should be the backbone of any research outlet but I would enjoy seeing more scholarly Literature Reviews. Applied Behavior Analysis has very rapidly grown and this expanding field has very few consistent outlets for Reviews. With the flourishing of behavioral assessment, teaching, and treatment techniques our growing practice base would benefit from having access to reviews of them with a slant towards use of these procedures in practice.

As we start this new year I would like to thank Keira Moore of Western New England University for having served as my Editorial Assistant. She has done nice job of keeping track of submissions and assisting authors, reviewers, and the Editor. I'd also like to thank the Editorial Board members, who are listed on the inside cover of the first page of every issue, for their service. They serve as volunteers and I could not ask for a more thoughtful and constructive group of individuals to provide me with their recommendation on submissions. I would also like to thank the authors that have considered BIN a worthy outlet for their interesting research. Finally I would like to acknowledge the Guest Reviewers for articles processed in the past year; we thank them very much for their service. They are:
