Cells (1 × 106) were treated with altholactone (0, 20 and 40 µg/mL) for 6 h at 37°C. mRNA of bcl-2 and p53 were RT-PCR amplified and amplicons separated by gel-electrophoresis and visualised by ethidium bromid staining. Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (G3PDH) mRNA was used as a housekeeping gene control. Negative control contained only assay buffer.
