Doing things by half: Palladium nanoparticles supported on the nitrogen-doped carbon nanofiber (Pd/N-CNF-H) are synthesized by thermally decomposing Pd2(dba)3⋅CHCl3 in toluene in the presence of N-CNF-H, and act as efficient catalysts for the partial hydrogenation of internal alkynes to the corresponding (Z)-alkenes in high turnover numbers.
