Easy does it! Anion-tethered N-heterocyclic carbene metal complexes (metal=AuI, RhI) were efficiently synthesised and immobilised on a polycationic dendrimer by an in situ transmetallation–immobilisation reaction, leading to discrete non-covalent metallodendritic assemblies (see figure).
