NO recycling! A new type of Meerwein arylation has been developed by using the most simple nitrogen-centered radical scavenger, nitrogen monoxide, and arenediazonium salts in the presence or absence of iron(II) sulfate. Owing to its low sensitivity towards oxygen, the reaction allows the recycling of nitrogen monoxide produced as waste gas.
