Multifunctional Ag@Au@phenol formaldehyde resin (PFR) particles loaded with folic acids (FA) have been designed for killing tumour cells through photothermal conversion under the irradiation of near-infrared light. The multifunctional particles exhibit good fluorescence, low toxicity, and effective targeting for the therapy of tumour cells. Furthermore, the efficiency of photothermal therapy (PTT) and fluorescence intensity can be tuned by simply changing the added amount of HAuCl4. For more details, see the Full Paper by S.-H.
