Notice of duplicate publication

In accordance with Cancer's editorial policy and internationally recognized guidelines, this serves as a notice of duplicate publication. The article entitled “The Efficacy for Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma May Be Improved by Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization in Combination With a Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine Formula: A Retrospective Study” (Cancer. 2009;115:5132-5138) was submitted to Cancer on December 22, 2008; accepted after revision on April 15, 2009; and published online on August 11, 2009. On December 24, 2008, all the authors signed our transfer of copyright form, which includes the statement “Neither this manuscript nor one with substantially similar content under my authorship has been published, has been submitted for publication elsewhere, or will be submitted for publication elsewhere while under consideration by CANCER…” Simultaneously, a duplicate version of the article entitled “Prognostic Analysis of Transarterial Chemoembolization Combined With a Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine Formula for Treatment of Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma” was submitted to the Chinese Medical Journal on December 22, 2008, and was published in the September 5, 2009, issue (Chin Med J (Engl). 2009;122:1990-1995). The authors have acknowledged the misconduct, which violated Cancer's editorial policies as set forth in our instructions to authors; apologized to the Editors for this incident; and retracted the version of the article that was published in the Chinese Medical Journal (Chin Med J (Engl). 2011;124:3048).
