Abstract
This article presents a graph-based Grid workflow language that is based on the formalism of Petri nets and the corresponding workflow enactment machine, developed by the author within the Fraunhofer Resource Grid in Germany. The workflow enactment machine supports dynamic refinement of workflows during runtime and automatic mapping of abstract jobs onto concrete Grid resources, which are accessed by means of the Globus Toolkit.
