The spin dynamics and the unique dynamic electron polarization resulting from a quantum-mixed charge-separated ion-pair (QM-CSIP) state generated by photoinduced electron transfer are studied for an ideal π-conjugated spin system 1, in which an electron acceptor (A) is covalently linked—via a photosensitive donor moiety (D)—to a radical (R). These results could have interesting applications in molecular spintronics.
