Just relax!T1 NMR relaxation data in the extreme narrowing regime are presented for the planar asymmetric 3-methyl-1H-imidazolium cation of the [Hmim]Br ionic liquid. An analytical procedure employing the relaxation data is reported, yielding the diagonalised rotational diffusion tensor. The eigenvalues of the diffusion tensor represent the rotational diffusion constants, Dx, Dy and D, which serve to describe the reorientational motions of the [Hmim]+ cation.
