Dialogue and the discourse of peacebuilding in Maluku, Indonesia

Following a devastating four-year conflict between Christian and Muslim communities in Maluku, Indonesia, the Interfaith Peacebuilding Institute for Maluku Tengah brought together forty erstwhile enemies—religious leaders from the Province of Central Maluku—to begin a dialogue about community restoration. In a remarkable five-day session, the participants created a common vision for reconciliation and community restoration on the basis of shared religious values, strength through difference, tradition, and dialogue.
