The embryo was imaged with a ×5 objective lens on an upright fluorescent microscope. The region imaged is just above the vitelline artery, near embryo proper, on the heart-side (after cervical flexion). An image was taken every 10 min for a period of 6 hr. A macrophage (white arrow) was first seen attached to the vessel wall at 100–110 min and then migrating out of vessel sometime between 130 and 160 min.|

The embryo was imaged with a ×5 objective lens on an upright fluorescent microscope. The region imaged includes the vitelline artery, close to the embryo proper, on the dorsal-side of the yolk sac (after cervical flexion). An image was taken every 10 min for a period of 4 hr. Macrophages were seen rolling along the endothelium (white arrow). Rolling macrophages were also observed to detach from the vessel wall and enter circulation at 330 min (white arrow). Another macrophage was motionless during the time-lapse and appeared integrated in the vessel wall (blue arrowhead).|
