Abstract
Scanning electron microscope image of a fly head, showing an extra eye field (red) lying on the ventral surface adjacent to the normal compound eye (red). This field results from the forced expression of mouse Six6, the vertebrate ortholog for the Drosophila optix gene. Please see the article by B. Weasner and J.P. Kumar in this issue.
