Mitsuo Gen received his BS and PhD in 1969 and 1974, respectively, from Kogakuin University. He was appointed Lecturer at Ashikaga Institute of Technology in 1974 and promoted to Assistant Professor in 1980. In 1981 and 1982, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 1987 he became a Professor at Ashikaga. He has been working on system optimization methods, numerical methods and development of software for multiobjective design. His book, Linear Goal Programming was published by the Electric Book Publishing Co. He is a member of Japanese Society of Operations Research, Japanese Society for Management Engineering, the Society for Information Processing and IEEE.
