    • Melinda A. Zeder is Director of the Archaeobiology Program of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. Her research focuses on questions of domestication, origins of agriculture, and the environmental and social impacts of early agricultural economies in the ancient Near East. She is the lead editor of the volume, Documenting Domestication: New Genetic and Archaeological Paradigms, with co-editors Eve Emshwiller, Daniel G. Bradley, and Bruce D. Smith, published in spring of 2006 by the University of California Press
