Abstract
The volatile leaf oils of Eucalyptus argutifolia Grayling & Brooker, E. kondininensis Maiden & Blakely, E. clelandii (Maiden) Maiden, E. striaticalyx W. Fitzg., E. lesouefi Maiden, E. pterocarpa C. Gardner ex P. Lang, E. fraseri (Brooker) Brooker subsp. fraseri, E. conglobata (R. Br. ex Benth.) Maiden, E. ‘anceps’, E. pileata Blakely, E. tenuis Brooker & Hopper, E. calcareana Boomsma, E. obtwiflora DC., E. dumosa A. Cunn. ex Oxley, E. percostata Brooker & P. Lang, E. cyanophylla Brooker, E. cretata P. Lang & Brooker, E. sheathiana Maiden, E. georgei Brooker & Blaxell and E. woodwardii Maiden, isolated by vacuum distillation, were analysed by GC-MS. Most species contained α-pinene (3-28%), 1,8cineole (2-62%), p-cymene (0.5-39%), aromadendrene (0.5-30%) and bicyclogermacrene (0.1-30%) as principal leaf oil components. Eighteen of the twenty species contained torquatone.
