Separation and identification of Egyptian sorghum non-tannin polyphenols

The extraction, isolation and identification of the non-tannin polyphenols of both low and high tannin sorghum varieties were studied. The results indicated that both low and high tannin varieties contained 4 identical low molecular weight fractions of non-tannin polyphenols. These fractions were not able to precipitate the gelatin and also gave negative results with the vanillin reagent. The other fractions were 6 in high tannin variety and 5 in low one.
