Abstract

North American liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports present formidable uncertainties, risks, and opportunities for LNG buyers, sellers, traders, investors, and lenders, both in North America and abroad. The disruptive impact of these exports and their low, hub-based competitive pricing challenge industry participants to develop new commercial strategies, pricing and indexing formulas, risk-mitigation tactics, and economic optimization solutions. For some industry participants, the changes present opportunities to create new businesses and/or transform companies; for others, the risks to existing revenue and profits could become existential.
