Cell viability and apoptosis assays were performed in human primary hepatocytes: Hu 813 (A), and Hu793 (B). Different TSA doses with and without TGFβ1 (2ng/ml) were tested to find the least toxic TSA dose (i.e., least apoptosis-inducing), with maximum viability, as measured by fluorometry. Apoptosis, as reflected by caspase 3/7 activities was least in the cells treated with 500 nM & 1000 nM TSA with vs. without TGFβ1. Cell viability assay in AML12 cells was also highest in cells treated with 500 nM – 1000 nM TSA with vs. without TGFβ1.
