      The fascination for cage-like ensembles is not limited to science, it permeates art as well. The picture "Superficie 8" (© Giuseppe Capogrossi, by SIAE 2011), painted by Giuseppe Capogrossi in 1951, has anticipated the emergence of molecular capsules in a visually evocative way. One coordination cage is inserted in the painting to highlight the striking similarity between the stylized artist version and the molecular counterpart.
