      New developments in controlled radical polymerization (CRP) have enabled the synthesis of a wide variety of new polymers with potential applications in biology, electronics, and advanced materials. In particular, recent advances by Matyjaszewski and co-workers and many other groups in the area of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and other CRP fields have facilitated the preparation of new materials by chemistry that is readily accomplished, highly robust, and environmentally friendly.
