      The cover picture shows a porous molybdenum oxide based capsule which in case of the presence of hydrophilic internal ligands (not shown below the pores for clarity) allows the uptake and release of Li+ but not of Na+ and K+ ions. The surfactant-encapsulated clusters can act as a transport system corresponding to dynamic diffusional domains if they are present in a supported liquid membrane, which can be used to separate Li+ from other alkali cations.
