The histology of the gonads and development of the egg envelopes of an ascidian (Styela plicata lesueur)†‡
This study was carried out at the Laboratory of Zoology of the University of North Carolina and the U. S. Bureau of Fisheries at Beaufort, N. C. I. am indebted to the Hon. Frank T. Bell, Commissioner of Fisheries, for the privilege of working at the Beaufort laboratory and to the director, Dr. H. F. Prytherch, and the staff for courtesies extended.
