The effect of freeze-drying on chlorophyll in the leaves of some selected drug plants

Authors

Abstract

A comparative study of the effect of freeze-drying and oven-drying at 45-50° on chlorophyll in the leaves of some selected drug plants was undertaken. The results indicated that more total chlorophyll was obtained from the freeze-dried leaves. The major difference was in the amount of chlorophyll a. Freeze-drying facilitated total chlorophyll extraction.
