Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) from silver colloids of vanadate, phosphate and arsenate



Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) of [HVO4]2−, [HPO4]2− and [HAsO4]2− has been studied on silver sol in H2O and 2H2O; in H2O the spectra were recorded from pH 3 to 12 with excitation at 488.0, 514.5, 568.2 and 647.1 nm. Considerable enhancement was observed compared with conventional Raman spectra, and deuteriation was observed to have no effect on the band positions in the SER spectra.
