Two Concepts Changing Laser Scribing in Photovoltaics

Compact, actively moving laser heads simplify and speed up the process

Abstract

Even in established Photovoltaics (PV) production processes, such as laser structuring of thin-film cells, there is always a need for further improvement. In a new scribing concept, several compact lasers replace high-power lasers. This approach simplifies the system setup, reduces costs and is more flexible. additionally, moving compact laser heads on a gantry along the PV panel provides further opportunities for a fast, stable and scalable scribing process.
