Abstract
Welding as well as brazing or soldering processes are thermal processes. Therefore, the isolating material will be molten during the joining processes if it's not removed before. This highly affects the stability and reproducibility of the joining processes. This article describes several approaches how to overcome the obstacles in joining of copper materials by using lasers for part preparation and welding.
