Cover: A complexed poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) (cPHA) was isolated from sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.), being a homopolymer of 3-hydroxybutyrate with the acylated hydroxyl end (72 mol-%). Also, the MALDI MS showed that beet cPHA has a slightly shorter chain length with a narrow molecular weight distribution than the known E. coli cPHA. Further details can be found in the Full Paper by Y. Suzuki,* Y. Esumi, H. Koshino, and Y. Doi on page 853.
