Cover: High temperature chlorine corrosion at the aluminized surface of a nickel base alloy after exposure to 10% Cl2 in synthetic air at 1000°C for 300 hours (cross section/false colors): selective vaporization of chromium carbides (yellow) with subsequent alumina-formation (dark grey) in the emerging cavities. The corrosion test was conducted within a project of Karl-Winnacker-Institute of DECHEMA e.V. to investigate material solutions for a thermochemical process of phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge ashes.
