Cover: High temperature chlorine corrosion at the aluminized surface of a nickel base alloy after exposure to 10% Cl2 in synthetic air at 1000°C for 300 hours (cross section/false colors): selective vaporization of chromium carbides (yellow) with subsequent alumina-formation (dark grey) in the emerging cavities. The corrosion test was conducted within a project of Karl-Winnacker-Institute of DECHEMA e.V. to investigate material solutions for a thermochemical process of phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge ashes. The project was funded by the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF) under contract No. 16432 N. More detailed information on the project can be found at http://kwi.dechema.de/en/Materials/High+Temperature+Materials/Projects/Sewage+sludge+treatment.html.
