Summary

Morphological changes of large-size semicrystalline polyethylene samples induced by different procedures such as annealing, aging, deformation, and interaction with solvents have been investigated non-destructively by single-sided NMR. The results are summarized and problems encountered in the characterisation of these polymer materials and the opportunities opened up by this innovative analytical method are discussed.
