Abstract
This paper reports on dynamically gain-flattened C- and L-band erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (DGF-EDFAs), whose dynamic gain ranges are above 20 dB and 24 dB, respectively. This paper gives the detailed test and comparative results for DGF-EDFAs based on the use of a voltage-controlled fiber-based gain tilt controller and a variable optical attenuator. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
