Abstract
A new compact package for compensating the temperature dependence of fiber Bragg grating (FBG), based on the use of two materials with different thermal expansion coefficients, has been demonstrated. The dependence of the Bragg wavelength over a temperature range of −18°C to 50°C is only 0.028 nm, which is 1/23 of that of an uncompensated FBG. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
