Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical study of the process of damping of non-linear vibrations in a three-mass model of power transmission system with a friction clutch. Both simultaneous structural friction phenomenon (passive damping) and piezoelectric effect (active damping) have been taken into account. The aim of the analysis is to assess the influence of geometric parameters of the system, its external load, unit pressure, viscotic damping coefficient and gain factor on the resonance curves of the steady-state vibrations. The equations of motion of the examined system were solved by means of the Van der Pol method and digital simulation. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
