Abstract
Modal coordinates are used to construct a state and input parameterizing flat output for flexible structures and to design open-loop controls. This is illustrated for the boundary control of a Timoshenko beam model. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
