Abstract

A multi-block grid (MBG) based algorithm to solve the joint velocity-frequency-composition PDF transport equation for turbulent reactive flow is presented. The algorithm is based on a previously developed hybrid finite-volume/particle approach which has significant advantages over stand alone particle PDF methods. It is demonstrated that the new solution method, due to the flexibility of MBGs, allows to perform simulation studies which involve very complex 3D geometries. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
