Particle hydrodynamics based on maximum entropy approximation



In this contribution, we propose a new particle based scheme for computational hydrodynamics. In contrast to existing particle based approaches, we use a maximum entropy approximation scheme to construct corresponding shape functions. These allow first order consistency as well as an efficient realisation of essential boundary conditions. The scheme is relative simple from an algorithmic point of view and computations can be efficiently accelerated using graphic processing units. (© 2012 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
