    Jerry L. Harbour, PhD, manages the Robotic and Human Systems Department at the Idaho National Laboratory. He is also the Interim Director for the lab's new Center for Human Performance. Jerry holds a PhD in Applied Behavioral Studies from Oklahoma State University, with a specialized focus in human performance. An international author, Jerry has written The Basics of Performance Measurement, Cycle Time Reduction, and The Process Reengineering Workbook. He is interested in all facets of assessing, measuring, and enhancing performance, especially in critical, high-consequence, technologically complex operational settings. Jerry is particularly interested in better understanding how performance improves and in quantifying the empirical relationship between innovations in technology and actual gains in performance.

    Harold S. Blackman, PhD, is the Deputy Associate Laboratory Director of Science and Technology at the Idaho National Laboratory, where he has worked for the past 24 years. He is also associated with the lab's Center for Human Performance. Harold holds a PhD in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Quantitative Methods from Arizona State University. He is a fellow of the Human Factors Society and a member of IEEE, American Nuclear Society, and the American Psychological Association. His research interests include display design and evaluation, mental models for complex human performance, instructional design issues, and human reliability analysis. He has coauthored three books, two of which cover topics in human reliability and the third on display design. In addition, he serves on the editorial board of two international journals. Harold also serves as adjunct faculty for Idaho State University, where he teaches classes in human factors and educational psychology.
