James Atwood graduated from junior college in his hometown of Edinburg, Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University at Lubbock, Texas, in 1952 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
In his present position as Vice President, Nitrogen Manufacturing, which was assumed in March, 1976, he is responsible for all nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing, including plants at Fort Dodge, IA; Hastings, NB; Dodge City and Lawrence, KS; Enid, OK; and Pollock, LA. This responsibility includes procurement of raw materials and other energy related matters.
He is the current Chairman of The Fertilizer Institute's Energy Committee. He is the current Vice-Chairman of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives Energy Committee after having served as Chariman of that group.
