Phase relations in the growth of stoichiometric lithium niobate

Abstract

The conditions of the formation of stoichiometric and near-stoichiometric LiNbO3 single crystals from high temperature solution have been investigated in the K2O–Li2O–Nb2O5 ternary system. The liquidus-solidus tie lines were established along different sections of the LiNbO3 phase field. Solidification with constant and near 50 mol% Li2O composition was found only at the LiNbO3–K2O isopleth in the temperature range 1114−1000 °C. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
