Simulation of long-wave phonon (λ > b) scattering at geometric imperfections in nanowires by FDTD method

Abstract

Elementary acts of acoustic phonon scattering in nanowires are studied numerically by the FDTD method. The points of bifurcation of the main waveguide are considered as defects. The particularities of the reflection/transmission coefficient of phonons of different polarizations are studied as a function of the frequency and geometrical parameters of the problem.
