The first sentence of the third paragraph of the Introduction should read: Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae, the dried rhizome of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz. (Compositae), is an important traditional Chinese medicinal herb used as a splenetic and stomachic tonic for the treatment of edema and diarrhea, according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
