This article is based on the findings of the unpublished Master of Science in Education thesis completed by Marjorie Ruth Porter at the University of Kansas in July 1957, under the direction of Dean Kenneth E. Anderson. The data for the study were obtained from the World Book Company and constituted part of the data gathered during the standardization program for the Anderson Chemistry Test.
