Freestanding nanoparticle sheets are prepared over the holes of a microgrid, and the arrays are transferred onto a solid substrate by a gas flow. The electronic transport properties of nanoparticle sheets suspended over trenches are measured. The scaling exponent is found to be significantly different from that of substrate-supported nanoparticle arrays.
