A facile technique for the fabrication of fully-covering multiscale structures surfaces by nanoimprinting and modified laser swelling is presented. The approach is proved to be capable of generating regular and adjustable dome-like hierarchical structures, and it is used to create nature-inspired, multiscale functional surfaces with tunable wettability.
